The Hungarian State Opera’s head of protocol and hostess of the Christian Carnival
Melitta Gyüdi started her career as a cultural event planner with the Armel Opera Festival and later went on to work in Avignon, Paris, Rouen, Barcelona, England and elsewhere. She joined the Hungarian State Opera as a protocol coordinator in November 2014 and was appointed head of protocol in the spring of 2017. She also participated in the European Music Council’s fellowship programme between 2018 and 2020. She holds a bachelor’s degree in international studies from the University of Szeged and a master’s in European law from the University of Lyon. She is currently working on her thesis for another master’s, this one in cultural heritage studies, at the University of Szeged. In the autumn of 2019, after serving as the hostess of the Hungarian Gala Night during the Opera’s 2018 New York tour, she was named permanent presenter of the Opera’s high profile events, as well as of the Opera Café television magazine.
